Instagram Introduces Professional Dashboard
There is no doubt that Instagram has now become a vital tool for businesses and content creators. So to help and encourage them to continue using the platform, Instagram has created different tools to support small businesses and content creators.
What Is In The Professional Dashboard?
It helps you grow your business
It allows you to keep track
of your performance by providing insights and trends based on your account’s performance.
It helps you stay informed
through curated educational resources, including tips and tricks, guidance, and inspiration to help you maximize your Instagram account.
Along with the announcement of the Professional Dashboard, Instagram also promises that it will build out a suite of tools to help businesses and creators grow and succeed on the platform.
Instagram Introduce Cross App-Messaging, Recently Deleted Recovery Option and Live Rooms
February might be the shortest month of the year, but it does not fall short of new features. In February, Instagram announced three significant features: Cross App-Messaging, Recently Deleted, and Live Rooms.
These features greatly improve user experiences and help Instagram stay above the competition.
Cross App-Messaging
Since then, users of both social media apps can now find and message contacts from Instagram and Facebook.
Aside from messaging and searching, the cross-app feature allows you to video chat and reshare posts across platforms. If you enable this feature, you can also see which of your friends are active/ online on both platforms.
This feature was an instant game-changer. The cross-app feature saves you more time and makes it easier to navigate from one app to another.
Live Rooms
Although the feature rolled out in March, Instagram Head Adam Mosseri first announced the Live Rooms feature in early February. Before Live Rooms, only one person can go live and Stream on Instagram.
Recently Deleted
One of the most requested Instagram features from users is an option to recover accidentally deleted posts. In response to users’ requests, Instagram comes up with a Recently Deleted feature to help them retrieve deleted videos and photos.
The stories you delete (not archived) will now stay in the recently deleted folder for up to 24 hours. Everything else (pictures, videos, reels, or IGTV videos) will get deleted automatically after 30 days.
To restore your recently deleted content, go to settings > account > recently deleted.
Once you get to the recently deleted folder, you have the option to restore or permanently delete the post. If you want to delete or restore content from the Recently Deleted folder, Instagram will ask you to verify that you are the right account holder by sending you a one-time password (OTP) on your phone number or email ID.
Instagram Rolls Out Live Rooms
Finally, the promised Live Rooms feature went live in March 2021. You can now hang out with three other friends and go live on Instagram.
To use Live Rooms, go to your Instagram account. Swipe left and tap the live camera option. Add a title to your live stream and tap the Rooms icon to add your friends. Search for your guests/ friends to add, or allow the requests from people to go live with you.
With Live Rooms, you can now host your talk show, engage with other artists, or just hang out with your friends online.
This feature was an instant hit because it came at a perfect time when the world was starting to go on lockdowns. The Live Rooms came in handy because it helps us stay connected during quarantines.
